Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 23 developing countries in Africa,
Asia and Latin America, the percentage of birth weight> 4000 grams varies from a low of 0.5% in India to
the highest of 14.9% in Algeria the incidence of macrosomia in the study obstetric department of the
University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu, Nigeria, from 5365 respondents found 8.1% macrosomia.
This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of infant macrosomia in
maternity at the Berkah Pandeglang Regional Hospital in 2018.
This study uses an analytical survey method with a Case Control approach with an equivalent
number of samples (1: 1). The researcher collected data using secondary data, with the number of each case
and control of 123 maternal women analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis.and in this study the
variables used were Gestational Age, Parity and Age
Based on the results of the study showed the results of the Univariate Analysis of maternal women
who experience majority macrosomia infants in the gestational age group are not at risknamely as many as
115 mothers (49.8%), the majority in the parity group Not at risk 78 (63.4%) and the majority occurred at
risk age as many as 69 (56.1%). While the results of bivariate analysis showed no relationship between
gestational age with the incidence of infant macrosomia with a value (p = 1,000), there was no relationship
between parity with the incidence of infant macrosomia with a value of p (= 1,000), there was a relationship
between age and the incidence of infant macrosomia with a value (p = 0.041).
It is expected that the health staff of Berkah Pandeglang Regional General Hospital can improve
health services for maternity women who have experienced macrosomia
