Bayi dengan berat badan lahir rendah (BBLR) memiliki banyak risiko mengalami permasalahan pada sistem tubuh, karena kondisi tubuh yang tidak stabil. Kematian perinatal pada bayi BBLR adalah 8 kali lebih besar dari bayi normal dikarenakan komplikasi neonatal seperti asfiksia. Asfiksia neonatorum merupakan salah satu penyebab mortalitas dan morbiditas bayi baru lahir dan akan membawa beberapa dampak pada periode neonatal baik di negara berkembang maupun negara maju.Asfiksia adalah kegagalan untuk memulai dan melanjutkan pernafasan secara spontan dan teratur pada saat bayi baru lahir atau beberapa saat sesudah lahir. Menurut data WHO, diperkirakan 15% sampai 20% dari semua kelahiran di seluruh dunia adalah berat lahir rendah, mewakili lebih dari 20 juta kelahiran per tahun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan berat badan lahir rendah dengan asfiksia neonatorum di Rumah Sakit Umum Sundari Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Jumlah populasi dari penelitian ini sebanyak 32 bayi berat lahir rendah yang mengalami asfiksia neonatorum sehingga sampelnya adalah seluruh populasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisa univariat dan bivariat dengan uji chi-square. Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa mayoritas berat badan lahir rendah dengan berat â¥1.500-2.400 gram sebanyak 26 responden (81,3%) dan mayoritas bayi mengalami asfiksia neonatorum ringan (skor APGAR 4â7) sebanyak 21 responden (65,6%). Berdasarkan hasi uji chi-square didapatkan bahwa ada hubungan berat badan lahir rendah dengan asfiksia neonatorum yang ditandai dengan p value 0,011 (< 0,05). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah ada hubungan berat badan lahir rendah dengan asfiksia neonatorum di Rumah Sakit Umum Sundari Medan. Disarankan kepada ibu hamil agar memeriksakan kehamilannya secara rutin untuk mengetahui masalah kehamilan dan mendapatkan informasi mengenai kehamilan dan persalinannya nanti sehingga ibu hamil tidak mengalami komplikasi dan bayi tidak lahir dengan berat lahir rendah.
Deskripsi Alternatif :Low birth weight babies (LBW) have a lot of risk of having problems in the body system, due to unstable body condition. Perinatal mortality in low birth weight babies is 8 times greater than normal babies, caused due to neonatal complications such as asphyxia. Asphyxia neonatorum is one of the causes of mortality and morbidity of newborns and will have some impacts on the neonatal period in both developing and developed countries. Asphyxia is a failure to initiate and resume breathing spontaneously and regularly at the time of the newborn or shortly after birth. According to WHO an estimated 15% to 20% of all births worldwide are low birth weight, representing more than 20 million births per year. The purpose of this research was to determine the association of low birth weight with asphyxia neonatorum in Sundari General Hospital. This research used analytic survey method with cross sectional approach. The total population of this research were 32 low birth weight babies who had asphyxia neonatorum so that the sample is total population.. This research used univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-square test. The results of this research found that the majority of birth weight with â¥1.500-2.400 gram weight as many as 26 respondents (81,3%) and the majority of infants had mild asphyxia neonatorum (APGAR score 4-7) as many as 21 respondents (65,6%). Based on result of chi-square test found that there was a low birth weight relationship with asphyxia neonatorum characterized by p value 0, 011 (<0,05.). The conclusion of this research was there is a low birth weight relationship with asphyxia neonatorum at Sundari General Hospital Medan. Recommended for pregnant women to check their pregnancy routinely to know the problem of pregnancy and get information about pregnancy and childbirth later so that pregnant mother does not experience complication and baby not born with low birth weight.
